Sussex Downs College will throw open its doors later this month (March 25 and 27) to help young people plan their next steps in education and training.
Dedicated open events at the College’s Eastbourne and Lewes campuses will provide information, advice and guidance to pupils currently in Year 11 who are unsure what their plans will be from September.
The events are also aimed at Year 10s interested in finding out more about what the College has to offer.
The open event for the College’s Park and Vocational campuses in Eastbourne will take place on site at Tyler House, Cross Levels Way, on Monday, March 25, from 4-7pm.
The open event for the College’s Lewes campus will take place in its Cliffe Building, Mountfield Road, on Wednesday, March 27, from 3-6pm.
Parents and guardians are invited to attend, as are adults looking to find out more about what they themselves could study at the College, which includes leisure, professional and Higher Education courses.
Tutors will be on hand to advise on which courses to choose and current students will offer the inside track on College life. Staff will be available to provide support in finding apprenticeships too.
Visitors will have the chance to tour the College facilities – including some of the workshop areas – and find out more about the transport, finance and student support options open to them.
The open events also provide a great opportunity to meet Melanie Hunt, the College’s Principal and Chief Executive; and Wayne Wright, the College’s Deputy Principal Curriculum and Skills.
