Children aged three to 11 years old are invited to the award winning Mewsbrook Park for a morning of energy-expending enjoyment on Wednesday, April 12. The sessions are free of charge, and will run from 10am to 12noon.

This year, the council’s event team will be joined by Arun Wellbeing in running a fun treasure hunt for young ‘eggsplorers’ with each participant receiving a prize once they have found the code to open a chest.

Freedom Leisure will also be bringing their range of outdoor activities including a bouncy castle and games.

For little ones who like to get creative, there will be the Arun Community Church’s art tent.

Nick Clark will also be putting on a special show for the youngsters. In addition to this, there will be free face painting.

Visitors are encouraged to stay on afterwards and enjoy the facilities at the Green Flag Park including the fantastic Mewsbrook Park Café.

The second session will be held on Wednesday, April 19, at Brookfield Park on Worthing Road, also between 10am and 12noon.

Young eggsplorers are urged to come explore the nooks, crannies and secret paths of the beautiful park to find brightly coloured bunnies and solve the riddle created by the roving rabbits.

A reward is guaranteed for each child who decodes the secret message.

In addition there will be face painting, Freedom Leisure outdoor activities and Arun Community Church’s art table for everyone to enjoy.

Councillor Billy Blanchard-Cooper, chair of the Community Resources Committee, said: “These Easter sessions are a fantastic way for young children to let off steam during the school holidays, not only are they free but they also encourage youngsters to be active and adventurous in our lovely parks.”

Note that parking at Brookfield Park is limited and there are no toilet facilities.

All children must be accompanied by an adult at both sessions.
