An 82-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a scam which targets elderly people.

On November 19 Sussex Police detectives and uniformed officers executed an arrest warrant at an address in Crowborough.

The warrant was conducted following intelligence from several elderly complainants, all of whom appear to have been defrauded out of large sums of money in a ‘get rich quick’ investment scam.

The man was arrested at the location and is currently on police bail while the investigation continues.

Detective Constable Paul Gray said, “This has been a complex and time consuming investigation into a scam which preys on vulnerable victims.

“If you believe that you may have been subjected to this investment scam, please contact Sussex Police via 101@sussex.pnn.police.uk or call 101.”
