Elderly man injured in Battle town centre

An elderly man was taken to hospital after sustaining a head injury in Battle.

The man, who was in his 80s, is believed to have fallen outside the Co-Op in the High Street at around 10.50am yesterday (Tuesday, January 19).

Paramedics were called and treated the man at the scene before taking him to the Conquest Hospital.

South East Coast Ambulance Service has thanked a GP who looked after the pensioner on the scene before the ambulance arrived.
