Elderly woman rescued from sea
AN elderly woman was rescued from the sea.
The woman was seen struggling in the water at Pevensey Bay at 6pm yesterday (Wednesday).
A passer-by pulled the woman to safety onto the shore.
A Sussex Police helicopter arrived at the scene and took the woman to Eastbourne District General Hospital.
Her condition today is described as stable.
There are thought to be no suspicious circumstances.
The coastguard in the area were alerted but not needed.
