ELECTION: Conservative retain power in Angmering and Findon and Arundel and Wick

THE Tories have retained their seats in Arundel, Wick and Angmering, despite a determined push from the UK Independence Party (UKIP).

Nigel Peters (Con) has been re-elected as the representative for Arundel and Wick, taking 967 votes, just beating off stiff opposition from UKIP candidate Jeannie Dunning, who secured a total of 783 votes.

Labour’s Alan Butcher took 387 while Liberal Democrats’ Nick Wiltshire earned a meagre 161 votes.

Deborah Urquhart (Con) also retained her seat as the councillor for Angmering and Findon, earning 1,100 votes.

UKIP’s Tricia Wales placed second, earning 941 votes, with James Elwood (Lab) taking 228 and Jamie Bennett (Lib Dem) accumulating 232 votes.
