Car bursts into flames after crashing into wall in Eastbourne

A car caught fire after crashing into a wall last night in Eastbourne (Wednesday, October 23).

East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service (ESFRS) were called to Beverington Road at 5.45pm following reports of a collision.

A car had collided with a wall at the entrance of a driveway, and then subsequently caught fire, ESFRS said.

Photos show severe damage to the car, but thankfully no injuries were reported.

An ESFRS spokesperson said: “Two fire engines from Eastbourne were in attendance and crews used breathing apparatus and two hosereel jets to extinguish the fire.

“The two occupants of the car had exited the vehicle and there were no injuries reported.”

Sussex Police have been approached for comment.
