Emergency services called to overnight incident in Shoreham; road reopens

The police were called to a welfare incident in Shoreham on Tuesday night (June 10).

A road closure was put in place whilst an incident was ongoing around 8pm on Norfolk Bridge.

Sussex Police shared a statement on social media at 10.15pm.

This read: “Following an incident this evening on Norfolk Bridge in Shoreham, the emergency response has now safely concluded and the road closure has been lifted.

“Thank you for your patience and understanding while services worked in the area.”

Paramedics from South East Coast Ambulance Service (SECAmb) were also called to the scene, amid a ‘report of concern for the welfare of a person’ on Norfolk Bridge.

A SECAmb spokesperson said: “Ambulance crews attended, assessed, and treated the patient on scene before taking them to Worthing Hospital for further medical treatment.”
