West Sussex village emergency incident: Person 'collapsed on a roof'

The emergency services rushed to a village in West Sussex earlier today (Thursday, September 19).

Multiple ambulance crews were joined by firefighters at The Street in Bramber around 8.50am.

South East Coast Ambulance Service (SECAmb) said it was responding to a ‘report that a person had collapsed on a roof’.

A spokesperson added: “Crews worked with West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service to bring the patient to safety, and they were taken to Worthing Hospital for further treatment.”

West Sussex Fire & Rescue Service said it sent crews to assist at the scene at 9.30am.

A statement read: “Joint Fire Control sent two fire engines and an aerial ladder platform from Worthing, and a further fire engine from Shoreham to the scene.

"Crews worked with South East Coast Ambulance Service to rescue one casualty from the roof and bring them to safety.

"The casualty was left in the care of South East Coast Ambulance Service."
