Emma's impressive camera skills set to go around world

A Ford student's photography is spreading around the world.

The shots by Emma Harvey of musician Joe Black impressed him so much he is using them on his website and promotional material.

The coup in photographing the up-and-coming singer, pianist and accordionist justifies her decision a year ago to set up a website to showcase her photographic abilities.

She combines taking photographs of landscapes, wildlife, people and everyday life with her GCSE studies at St Philip Howard Catholic High School in Barnham.

Emma (16) said: "I started taking photographs of friends and relatives. As word spread, I began receiving commissions for wedding, band and party shoots.

"It soon became apparent my photography was becoming more than just a hobby."

Emma has not had any formal training so far to allow her natural talent to shine through her work.

She does, though, plan to refine her skills by studying photography at college when she leaves school as well as continuing to build up her portfolio and make the most of any chances that may arise.

One such opportunity saw her link with Portsmouth's Joe Black.

She was able to demonstrate her creative skills, capturing the darkness of his character while portraying a sense of fun.

Black has shared a stage with a wide range of celebrities such as Amy Winehouse, Des O'Connor and Gary Numan.
