Empire State of Mind

NINETEEN St. Richard's pupils from years 10 and 11 enjoyed a rewarding and successful trip to New York as part of their GCSE Leisure and Tourism studies. The aim of the half-term visit was to look at New York as a tourist destination which they will able to use as a case study for their exam.

The week-long trip involved a packed programme which included visiting Central Park, Ground Zero, Wall Street, the Statue of Liberty, U.N headquarters and St. Patrick’s Cathedral.

The St. Richard’s group also enjoyed saw broadway show, Wicked, as well as attending a Knicks basketball game at Madison Square Gardens with a sell out crowd of 30,000.

Afterwards youngsters described their visit as “inspiring,” “amazing” and a “once in a life-time opportunity.”
