End of the road for Rother Bulletin?

Rother District Council is reviewing whether to carry on producing it's monthly newsletter.

The Rother Bulletin is sent out to Rother councillors, all parish councils, senior Rother officers, schools and various partner organisations.

It is also available for anyone to read online.

The glossy-cover magazine includes stories from Rother, town and parish councils and the police, as well as a list of planning applications.

Discussing the magazine at a Battle Town Council meeting on Tuesday, Rother Councillor Kevin Dixon said: "I think it's origins were to let Rother District Council councillors know what was going on.

"But it now seems to be a monthly newsletter for whoever wants to promote themselves."

Town Council chairman, Cllr David Hussey, said: "We do not find it particularly useful in this time of financial restraint and their (Rother's) money could be spent on other things."
