Hailsham Town Mayor Cllr Jo Bentley officially opened Wealden’s first Energy pop-up Shop today (Friday March 28). Every day until Wednesday (April 2) from 10am until 4pm (closed Sunday), Hailsham is hosting the first ever Energy pop-up shop in Wealden.
Organised by Communities Matter in partnership with Wealden District Council, the shop is in Hailsham town centre at 5 The Quintins.
Mayor Cllr Bentley said: “I was delighted to attend the opening of Hailsham’s Energy Pop-up Shop this morning.
“It has to be a good thing to find ways to save money and how to be more efficient with our energy use. There are experts here who can help you.
“Bring along your energy bills and talk to them. I also want to thank everyone involved in making this happen.”
Ollie Pendered, Director at Communities Matter, said: “We are delighted to see so many local people come into our Energy Pop-up Shop, and we hope to see many more over the next few days. Finding ways to save money on our energy bills and finding out how to be more energy efficient can only be good for us and our environment.”
Abby Hussain, Energy Officer for Wealden District Council added: “Hailsham’s Energy Pop- up Shop is proving to be a great success. Since 10.00 am this morning, there has been a continuous flow of local people coming through the door seeking advice about their energy use and that is exactly what we are here for.”
