Energy scheme backed in Arun

A scheme to promote solar energy for homes and businesses is being promoted with Arun District Council's prize from a green energy award.

The council collected 15,000 for being the runner-up in the Ashden Awards for sustainable energy to recognise its existing work. These efforts will be boosted by the prize money being spent on a renewable energy support service.

Roger Wood, the council's deputy head of environmental health, added: "As the cost of fuel continues to soar, fuel poverty is going to be a growing issue.

"We already have an excellent system in place to bring affordable and sustainable energy efficiency to our residents, but the prize money will allow us to develop this service to the benefit of everyone who lives and works in the district."
