Enhance don't pollute Chichester

Green city councillor Sarah Sharp is one of the organisers for next Tuesday's forum

Chichester can '˜enhance its lives and not pollute the air we breathe and the land we rely on'.

That was the message ahead of the city’s second climate change forum, due to be held next Tuesday, June 13.

Following the huge success of the first forum in January, the collaboration behind it, Chichester and Bognor Green Party and Transition Chichester, is holding workshops and interactive discussions at the Bassil Shippam Centre in Tozer Way at 7.15pm.

Talks will be led by Rosemary Moon on food, Tom Broughton on energy, and Nicola Peel, a solutionologist, and Jane Reeve from The Flow Project.

Sussex Green Living will be represented as well as West Sussex County Council’s waste team.

Speaking ahead of the forum, Green city councillor Sarah Sharp said: “In the light of Trump’s decision to withdraw from the Paris Climate Change Agreement and what feels like the one party state we are living under in the south with recent election results, we can make changes locally in the way we live, travel, eat and recycle.

“There is so much we can do as individuals and also so much we all, as forward thinkers, can input into the debate and discussions about how we manage our lives.”
