Enthusiasts can investigate the secret life of bats in Alfriston with informative talk

Join local bat expert, Dr Sarah Yarwood-Lovett, for an evening investigating the secret life of bats at Alfriston Clergy House.

On Friday August 30 and Saturday August 31 bat enthusiasts can enjoy an informative talk on bats followed by a walk around the garden and river, where they will search for the bats using detectors.

Alfriston Clergy House is home to Natterer’s (Myotis nattereri) which are scarce in Sussex and are known to nest in buildings with large wooden beams such as the timber framed Clergy House.

The Bat evening runs from 7pm to 9pm, booking is essential for either of the evenings as the event is limited to only 20 people per night.

There is a small charge for the event with adults £5 and children £3.50, also warm clothing is advisable and bring a torch for the walk.

For further information or to book the event on the Friday or Saturday evening contact Alfriston Clergy House.

You can reach the Clergy House by calling on 01323 871961.
