The Pamphilon Theatre in the grounds of Uckfield Community Technology College brings the Entire History of Cabaret to Uckfield on Friday, May 6.

Anna Braithwaite and Tanya Holt known, two ladies with stunning voices, join forces with singer and pianist Michael Roulston, to lead the audience on an educational journey through cabaret’s scandalous and illustrious past.

They go all the way from the roots of cabaret in Belle Epoque Paris to Duke Ellington’s Cotton Club, via the smoky subversion of Marlene Dietrich’s drinking dens, before finishing with a tantalising glimpse into cabaret’s intergalactic future.

The Entire History of Cabaret features witty new arrangements of songs such as ‘Money Money Money’, ‘Avenue C’ and ‘Eleanor Rigby’, and pieces written especially for the group like the macabre opera parody (Benjamin) Britten’s Got Talent.

The show previewed to excellent reviews at the 2009 Edinburgh Fringe. Tickets are expected to sell fast. Ring: 01825 762171 or email lizatpamphilon@hotmail.com
