Entrepreneurs a success

The six-strong team of year-ten students called ‘Affinity’ set up their stall at the Wednesday Market in Montague Street.

Catching last ­minute shoppers in the town centre, the young entrepreneurs made over £40 selling products they designed, created and marketed themselves.

The sale was part of a year-long competition to win prizes and represent their area in the Young Enterprise UK finals.

Affinity are one of three teams from Davison High School competing in the Young Enterprise competition 2015.

The enterprise education charity provides young people with the opportunity to set up and run their own real company with the support of a volunteer adviser from a local business.

Centre Lead for Affinity, Ann Warwick, said: “The students run their company as a real business venture and along their journey they learn skills and experiences which will be invaluable to them in their future life.

“The girls are encouraged to make all the decisions about their company, from deciding on their product to creating a business plan and managing finances.”

Affinity, along with other local teams, will be taking part in the trade fair at the Charmandean Centre in Worthing on Saturday, March 14.
