THIS Sunday sees the return of the bbb10k race in Battle, which is set to be the most hotly contested one yet.

With medals for all runners and prizes for the top three in age categories nine to 11 and 12 to 14 for both male and female, the race is a great chance for young runners to get a taste of competitive running.

The main event, the 10k race, starts in the High Street at 10am and makes its way around the course to finish on the Abbey Green.

The course record was broken last year by Hastings Athletic Club runner Daniel Anderson.

But there are plenty of runners who will be vying to beat his record time of 32.50 minutes.

Motorists are reminded that the High Street will be closed between 9.20-9.40am for the junior race and then again between 9.50-10.15am.

Powdermill Lane will be closed from 10-10.45am.

A traffic control system will be used at various areas on the route.

Drivers are advised to allow extra time for their journey as delays are likely.

The results will be available on the official bbb10k website at www.bbb10k.co.uk
