Big roadworks planned for two villages

Power cable work in Steyning and Bramber could cause major traffic disruption, claims parish council chairman David Barling.

A Steyning Parish Council meeting was held on Monday, March 11 to discuss the extensive works that will stretch from underneath Steyning to the Maudlin area of Bramber.

From Monday March 18 the roadworks will be conducted by UK Power Networks which requires holes to be dug at various points (known as joint bays) to replace the extensive cable.

A representative of UK Power Networks, Tim Lawrence, also attended the meeting to learn which roads will be most affected, including Maudlin Lane.

The first joint bay will be on A283, opposite Cannons Way.
