Country Life by Richard Williamson

A buttercup is a buttercup isn't it? Well it ain't necessarily so, oh no. You see it could be a wood anemone ( see my picture).

Those flowers may be white, but if they were gold, you could imagine them to be buttercups. They are in the family after all and very closely related. I know they have finished blooming, but they were so good this year I could not resist showing you their photograph.

For three weeks during the dry spell they challenged the stars and the five planets and then the growing moon. By day they watched the sun and followed it round the sky, by night their closed petals became constellations.
