Gwyn Jones- Farm Diary

April is here, warm and wet; very wet. Blossom is exploding all around us making up for los time, daffodils having stood still for several weeks are now in full bloom..

The little birds like the wet weather and are excited about the arrival of spring and at the weekend the skylark was singing loudly at Crouchlands.

There is now enough grass at Tillington for the turnout, but I have held back a few days in order to protect the pasture from poaching. It just seemed a shame to turnout in the wet, as tghe hefiers will insist on a good run-round for the first half hour or so, in their excitement. Turnout at Crouchlands is still a few weeks away, although conditions change so quickly at this time of the year.
