Mrs Down's Diary

Our new Texel tup has some uninvited competition for the attenions of the Mule ewes that he is expected to cover.

The other tups are in the main flock of ewes but Mr Texel is in with a specially selected flock of young gimmers and shearlings. Forty of them.

In order to check on his progress, not that we doubt his prowess, he is wearing a saddle with a red raddle. A colour marker. That way when he covers a ewe he leaves her with a rosy bottom.
