Nature Trails by Richard Williamson

There is a deep sweet silence in spring over Exmoor. You don't hear this silence in Sussex any more except on Christmas Day.

Cars slow down as their drivers who hav e battled with life in the cities all year take a mental hot bath.Silence is golden in high summer, in spring it is silver. Even the rough and ttumbling waters of the Lyn and its brothers and sisters which sing joyously down the wooded goyles is silent, almost a relief.
