The applicant, Rare Brand Market Ltd, wants to open up a food bar serving uncooked ‘healthy, sustainable whole foods’ on the ground floor of a Grade II listed building in Little London, Chichester.

The premises would also be used as a studio where pop-up yoga, pilates and other wellness-related activities could take place.

A planning application, submitted to Chichester District Council, seeks to change to change the use of the building from retail to mixed-use retail and a yoga studio/wellness centre.

Some external and interior alterations have also been proposed, including a partition wall to provide showers and toilet facilities.

The premises would be open between 9am and 8pm daily.

The applicant said the proposal would provide ‘a unique health and wellness experience’, adding: “It will support and strengthen the vitality and viability of the city centre as a tourist destination, contributing to a sense of civic pride amongst the local community.”
