Photographers are being invited to capture the essence of one of the gems of Lewes.

The Railway Land Wildlife Trust is again hosting its annual photo competition.

Now in its third year, the categories for 2014 are Reflections, Structures and Surprise.

Photographs should be taken of, or from, the Railway Land including the riverside path and water meadows.

But hurry – the closing date for entries to be submitted in January 24.

There are two age groups, under-17 and adult, and entry forms and competition details can be obtained from Lewes Framers in Walwers Lane.

Prizes will be awarded for each category and age group.

The competition entries will feature alongside a photographic exhibition at the Linklater Pavilion during the weekends of February 14-16 and 20-23.

Visitors will be invited to vote for their favourite photo and the winner will receive the People’s Choice prize.

Entries should be emailed to along with an A4 size ‘hard’ copy that should be delivered to Lewes Framers or to the Linklater Pavilion.

Geoff Bush, on behalf of the Railway Land Wildife Trust, said: “Please come along to see the entries and the exhibition. The quality last year was very high and we aniticipate this year will exceed that.”
