Reader's letter: Please repair Eastbourne's neglected benches

What a shame to see so many of the valued benches in disrepair.

Very many of them, especially in the Meads area on the various levels, have slats missing.

It almost looks as though they have been removed to order.

These benches are always tightly packed during Airbourne and will certainly be missed if unusable.

May I also enquire if anything can be done to improve the condition of the statue of the Duke of Devonshire in Devonshire Place?
