Tugwell Park: Travellers arrive at Hampden Park
A group of travellers has this afternoon (Wednesday) set up what is believed to be an unauthorised encampment in Hampden Park.
The group is reported to have gained access to Tugwell Park which is off Tugwell Road.
No further details have been released but Sussex Police and officials at East Sussex and Eastbourne councils are aware and organising welfare checks for the group.

Hide AdAn Eastbourne council spokesperson said, “We are liaising with Sussex Police and the East Sussex County Council Traveller Liaison Team in order for welfare checks and other assessments to take place as soon as possible.
“We will provide further updates when they are available.”
The arrival of the group comes just days after a group of travellers left land between the Sovereign Centre and Monarch House flats on Eastbourne seafront after a nine day stay.
