Equipment stolen from Durrington care home

A SENSORY gym ball was stolen from a residential care home for adults with learning disabilities in Durrington.

The 4ft diameter red ball was taken from the grounds of Stanhope Lodge, Poplar Road, at about 6.30pm on Tuesday, April 20.

One of the residents was outside in the back garden playing with the large sensory ball when a group of youths were seen by staff from Stanhope Lodge trying to scale the wall.

Sergeant Anna Gent from Sussex Police said: "The youths asked the resident playing with the ball to hand it to them.

"They were not seen to enter the garden.

"The resident went to pass the ball up to the lads but was spotted by one of the staff and requested not to."

When staff returned to the garden at 7.15pm the ball had gone.

A thorough search was made of the premises, but the ball had been taken.
