Eric Armstrong's Christmas message

RECENTLY, both my wife and I have been fortunate to attend many excellent festive events in Bexhill.

There can be no doubt that traditional carols and the enthusiastic participation of our local children sum up the spirit of this joyous season.

The Bexhill Achievers' evening earlier this year clearly demonstrated what a super town this is, reinforcing the wealth of community spirit that exists in Bexhill. I would like to thank the all the organisations and individuals who have made this year so special for so many people in our town and beyond.

However, it is very easy to ignore those less fortunate than ourselves, and at this time of year it is important to remember the lonely, the ill, and those in need.

Our gratitude must go to those who over the Christmas period give up their time for the service to others.

We can all benefit from the true traditional values of community spirit and faith. I hope you will have a wonderful Christmas and let us all pray that it will be happy and peaceful.

My best wishes for a happy and healthy New Year.
