Established business is UK leader in its industry

The firm, based in Easting Close, Worthing, is sponsoring the ‘manufacturing and construction’ category.

Set-up by husband and wife team Peter and Miriam Webb in 1983, ETI now sells over one million thermometers a-year.

It now exports its products all over the world, and generates a turnover of more than £8 million per year.

One of the firm’s products, the Super Fast Thermapen Thermometer, manufactured by ETI in their Worthing factories, is a favourite kitchen gadget of many celebrity chefs and professional cooks, and is being well received around the world.

David Carter, quality and systems manager at ETI, said product development is an ‘essential part’ of the business.

He said: “ The development of new products is an essential part of the business, with continual investment in innovation, undoubtedly maintaining a vibrant and exciting place to work.

“ETI’s strategy of design and manufacture in the UK is proving a significant advantage over competitors, as well as providing support for local suppliers and the economy.”

Away from its products, the Webbs are keen to support the town.

A total of 97 per cent of its 134-strong workforce are local, and it recently launched the ‘ETI in the Community’ scheme to further support the town.
