Does anyone have a blackboard easel or artists easel, or similar, that I can borrow for the photo display on July 6 (see details below) , if you have one let me know, and I will need it in the Church on the afternoon of Friday July 5.

We need your photos of village events. This year, on Saturday July 6, when the Summer Fete is held in Queen’s Garden, it is planned to have a display, in the Church, of photographs of village events from the previous year. The display will have quite a few of the pictures that I have taken at village events, but I would like to have contributions from as many village residents as possible, more pictures = bigger display.

We will also have a display of old photos and postcards of Etchingham and the surrounding area and some historical items of local interest.

If you have photographs I can borrow, please loan a print of any suitable images, all photographs will be returned and you will be acknowledged as the photographer/owner.

Pictures of approx. 6 inches x 8 inches would be best, but try and keep the size between 6x4 and 10x8 , as the pictures will probably need to be pinned to a display board, pictures with a small border would be best, or you could put your picture on a mount with a small border.

I have slightly changed the criteria for photos, I need any interesting village photos, of any interesting subject, but particularly village events, with an emphasis on events from the last year. If you have pictures from village events from several years ago they would be interesting to see.

And a few pictures of Snowy Etchingham would be welcome.

Please supply your pictures as soon as possible, please do not leave it until July, it takes time to put a display together, so pictures are needed as soon as possible. Deliver your pictures to Colin Boylett, 2 Park Farm Close, Etchingham. If you have any queries 01580 819532 07941 786244 e-mail [email protected]

Phil and Paul at the Post Office have kindly offered to take in your pictures if you prefer to leave them there, please put in a sealed envelope with your name address and contact details.

Also, do you have some small pinboards that I can borrow to display the pictures, almost any size will be suitable, but the ideal size is 24 inches (60cm) in height, I need the boards because the display will now be in the Chancel and I will be making use of the ledges in the Choir Stalls, as with the photos I need to borrow pinboards as soon as possible to help with advance preparation.

Get information for this column to me as soon as possible, if you have a diary of events planned for the year let me have the dates and I will put in a list of village events for the year so that people can put the dates in their diaries. There are several ways to get your info to me, but email is preferred because there is less chance of errors during copying. I need information by 10pm on Monday to be sure it will be in time for inclusion, I can sometimes add extra items on Tuesday morning, but this cannot be guaranteed. Just a little reminder, I get plenty of information about events that are taking place, but I get very little follow up information, after your event try and remember to send me brief account of how successful your event was, it can be as simple as a thank you to those that attended and how much money was raised etc. You can deliver to 2 Park Farm Close, telephone 01580 819532 or 07941 786244 or email [email protected]
