The ceremony was arranged by Eleanor and Shaun Knowles, both former soldiers, now the organisers of the Etchingham Branch of the Royal British Legion.

Eleanor Knowles read out the names and details of all the men named on the village War Memorial who made the ultimate sacrifice during the First World War. Shaun Knowles then laid a wreath at the memorial.
