Church services continue every Sunday morning at 11am, the service on Sunday (October 17) will be led by Reverend Christopher Channer; October 24, Reverend Sharon Francis; October 31, Reverend Christopher Channer.

All the services in November will be led by Liz France, and the service on Sunday November 14 will start with the annual Remembrance Service at the War Memorial. From now on there will be a ‘Child friendly Family Service’ on the second Sunday of each month. Halloween is approaching fast, so time to tell you about the Family Halloween Disco, so that you can all be thinking about your costumes for the Fancy Dress Competition, this year there is also a prize for the best dressed adult.

The date to put in your diary is Saturday October 30, 5pm to 7pm, children’s tickets will be £2 which will include a Hot Dog and a party bag.

The annual Bonfire and Fireworks this year will be on Saturday November 6, as usual in the lambing field by kind permission of Mr. Ahrens.

There is a Guy competition, anyone can enter, individual, family or group, a prize for Scariest Guy, start making yours today. The gate opens at 5.45pm, the Barbecue starts at 6pm, with the Guy judging at 6.30pm, the fireworks start at 7pm.

Do not park in Borders Lane, park in the village and walk up to the field.

Did you attend Hurst Green Primary School, or did your children or grandchildren, or did you once work at the school?

You will probably be aware that the new school is nearing completion and the school is in the process of packing everything up and moving into the new building during the October half term.

The old building will soon be demolished and old pupils of the school and those with strong historic connections are invited to have a last nostalgic look around the building before it disappears, there will be an open day for those who want to have a last look around on Friday October 22.
