Former FSB chairman Brett McLean has been appointed chairman of the East Sussex Economic Advisory Board.
The board is made up of representatives from local authorities, educational establishments, third sector and business organisations from across East Sussex with the secretariat provided by the economic development team of East Sussex County Council.
The board’s remit focuses on economic development, transport and communications infrastructure improvements, employability, work readiness and skills development.
The board also reports and identifies on Government grants and loans available for businesses for the purpose of business growth and employment creation and works alongside the Department of Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS).
Mr McLean stepped down as chairman of the 1066 Country branch of the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) earlier this month after eight years in the role. He decided not to seek re-election.
He also served as the youngest regional chairman for East Sussex FSB for three years.
