Exam result success at Farlington

GIRLS from Farlington School in Horsham are amongst thousands of students across the district celebrating their exam success.

A total of 40 per cent of all grades gained were A* or A, with 14 per cent of girls achieving straight A* or As.

Almost every student has secured a place at their first choice of university and course, with destinations including Oxford, Durham, Exeter, Leeds, Kings’ College, the Royal Northern College of Music and the London College of Fashion.

Headmistress Jonnie Goyer said: “I am delighted that the girls’ hard work and dedication has paid off so well.

“This year the competition for university places has been fiercer than ever, the pressure on young people greater than ever, and it is fantastic to see every one of our girls achieve what she needs for the next step in her career.

“I am very pleased with the actual results; the value added from GCSE to A2 is stunning, averaging 1½ grades but without doubt the most important issue is that each girl is realising her potential and achieving her dreams.

She added: “This is a fantastic group of young women who deserve their brilliant success and who will go on to great things.”

Mrs Goyer also paid tribute to the talent and commitment of the staff who have guided and supported the girls so well.
