Exciting Christmas concert at St Michaels’ Church in Lewes

The organisers of the Pestalozzi Christmas Concert are looking forward to repeating last year’s success.

The concert will be held at St Michael’s Church, Lewes, at 7.30pm on Tuesday, December 10,

The cost of admission is £8 payable at the door, or £7 by telephoning in advance on 01273 475172.

This includes mince pies and tea/coffee.

At the core of the concert, as always, will be the choir, whose members come together especially for this event.

Roger Durston, former County Music Advisor, who directed them for the first time last year, has put a lot of work into preparing an entirely new and exciting programme.

They will be joined once again by local organist, conductor and keyboard player, Nick Milner-Gulland.

Also appearing will be international opera and concert soloist, Anne Mason, mezzo-soprano.

This year Anne has performed as Marcellina in Glyndebourne Festival’s Marriage of Figaro and Hansel and Gretel’s Mother during the Tour.

All proceeds go to the Pestalozzi International Village at Sedlescombe, near Battle, to support the students there, who are all from disadvantaged families in developing countries and have demonstrated a motivation to help their home communities.

The students’ own contribution to the evening is always another highlight of the concert.
