Exclusive bridal section launched at charity shop

The shop has launched an upstairs bridal department where bridal parties can shop in style in an elegantly decorated area complete with a luxurious changing space.

Mother of the bride and bridesmaids outfits, including veils and accessories, are available to browse too.

Teresa Harris, St Catherine’s Bishopric Shop Manager said: “We’re really excited to launch our exclusive bridal section and hope it’ll attract local brides to come along and see us.

“We’ve received some incredibly generous donations and have some really beautiful dresses on offer. There’s a real mix of styles, from plain to ornate, from white to cream and oyster coloured.

“We’ve got some 1960’s designs and some of our dresses are brand new.

“We recently had a £150 BHS gown donated with the label on so there are some real bargains to be had. Our dresses start from £75 and go up to £200.

“Brides-to-be who’ve already visited have been impressed and we’ve sold a couple of dresses already. I and the team look forward to sharing in the excitement of more bridal dress shopping!”

The hospice’s stylish ‘In Celebration’ range, which is perfect for weddings, will also be on display at the shop.

With attractive donation envelopes, reversible place name cards, decorative ribbon and pins, the ‘In Celebration’ range is a great way for brides and grooms to support their local hospice on their big day.

As well as bridal outfits, the department also has a selection of reasonably priced prom dresses and the Bishopric shop is now on the lookout for anyone who might be interested in donating their bridal gown, prom dress, bridesmaid dresses or Mother of the Bride outfits.

Teresa said: “If you’ve got an outfit that you’ve worn to a wedding that’s sat in your wardrobe, why not consider donating it to support your local hospice?

“Donating your outfit is a lovely way of passing something special to someone else to enjoy on their special day.

“We’re particularly interested in complete Mother of the Bride outfits, or accessories such as hats, gloves and bags, but are grateful for any donation you can give.”
