An exhibition of photographs relating to the creation of Priory Meadow shopping centre will take place in the mall next month.
Garry Corber lived opposite the old Central Cricket Ground in Devonshire Road when it was demolished around 1996 and 1997.
He used to take photographs of the site being demolished to make way for the new shopping centre.
Priory Meadow opened in 1997 and Garry had kept a number of the colour photos he took at the time.
He said: “I used to look over from my living room and see the development of the shopping centre.
“I decided to put on an exhibition of the photos I took at the time.
“They are all colour photos and it is quite interesting to see the changes.
“There are two phases to the exhibition - the first is the demolition of the Central Cricket Ground and the second the building of the shopping centre.”
The exhibition runs over the weekend of April 11 and 12.
The Central Cricket ground exhibition runs on April 11 from 9-5.30pm.
The Priory Meadow shopping centre exhibition takes place on April 12 from 10-4pm.
