A planning application to make changes to Harbour Primary School and Nursery in Newhaven has been submitted to Lewes District Council.

East Sussex County Council is proposing to remove the outdoor amphitheatre to make way for creating a two storey building on the northern corner of the site in Church Hill.

This will accommodate a nursery on the lower floor with two classrooms above.

There will also be a new canopy cover over the existing terrace between the main school building and the new building.

An existing conservatory to the north west of the main school building will be removed while another two storey extension for two new classrooms will be built.

There will also be a new car park layout and landscaping.

To see the plans and comment on them visit www.lewes.gov.uk and go to the planning section using the reference LW/13/0302.

The district council planning committee will have the final say on the scheme.
