'˜Exuberant'exhibition at Marlipins

The exhibition has been described as ‘wonderfully exuberant’ and none of the paintings have been shown before.

They represent influences from romance, humour, social comment and portraiture and the exhibition covers a wide variety of subjects, not just Shoreham.

One of the most interesting is a picture of John Lennon, and there are some beautiful landscapes and sketches.

Malcolm has worked from his studio at Artists and Framers, in East Street, for more than 30 years.

His worked in London in the printing trade for a number of years but was made redundant in the 1980s.

He had become interested in painting while in London, through the artist father of a girlfriend.

The relationship ended but he started painting in earnest after marrying his wife, Wendy.

Having been made redundant, he saw an advert for the East Street shop and moved to Shoreham.

There are 51 paintings and sketches, all are for sale. The museum, in High Street, is open Tuesday to Saturday, 10.30am to 4.30pm.

The exhibition runs until October 30.
