Eyes right for Armed Forces Day parade

ARMED Forces Day will be celebrated this summer in Egerton Park at an event organised by Bexhill and District Veterans' Association.

Chairman Chris Gadsden said: “Everything is now in place for another fantastic day for all the family to come along and enjoy themselves.”

The day starts at 9.30am with a fun dog show, and everyone is welcome to bring their pooch along to show off and win a certificate or rosette.

The parade of veterans and local youth organisations will begin at 11.15am.

This will include a drumhead service conducted by the Reverend Paul Messenger at midday.

There are more than 40 stalls for visitors to have fun browsing throughout the day and all those who buy a programme will be entered automatically into a prize draw, which will take place at 3.30pm.

Arena events include: King Offa School Dancers, Chantry School’s performing arts, and martial arts displays. Bexhill’s Robertson Academy Pipes and Drums, and Dancemoves will be entertaining the crowd.

Chris added: “It is not too late to enter for the tug o’ war, details of which can be obtained from the number given below.

“If you are an ex-serviceman or woman and would like to take part in the Parade please feel free to join us on the day.”
