Eyesore in flames

Crews from Worthing and Lancing were called to the derelict shopping area to put out a fire burning in two rooms of the flat.

Firefighters believe the fire was started deliberately, as the rooms were separated by concrete and the fire could not have spread.

Worthing s assistant divisional officer and station commander Les Palmer said: Unfortunately, when you get a derelict area like this, it attracts squatters, especially when a lot of the premises are not secure.
