CELEBRATION: The 200th Celebration of the building of St Laurence Church began in great style with the visit of the Bishop of Lewes, the Right Reverend Richard Jackson. The church was packed with our regular congregation and visitors from past times, it was a joy to see so many. After the service, we made our way to the village hall, where over 60 people sat down to enjoy a three-course meal prepared mainly by Jill Burt who was the main coordinator, others had prepared the soup and wonderful trifles. We had two amazing young helpers who took the food to the tables Jake and Erin Bowie, you never would have imagined that a 10 and 7-year-old could do such a good job. It was a good omen for the start of the celebrations that have been arranged for the coming year, to see what has been arranged log on to www.stanmerwithfalmer.com everyone will be most welcome to join us.

Not to spoil our festive mood, a notice has been distributed on the south-side of the village announcing that East Sussex Council will be changing the resident parking places to one side of Park Street only. Leaving the east side for two hour restricted parking, it raises a great deal of questions, one, why no consultation and two, why was there not a sight of any traffic wardens around on January 9, when there was a notable number of cars parked on the south side and remained there for over two hours, (the limit)?
