Families discover a messy way to have fun at Pavilion children's day

HUNDREDS of children and parents got their hands dirty at a Discover and Do day held in the De La Warr Pavilion.

Old staples, including a spaghetti pit for the under-fives, were joined by more innovative games like circus skills and parachute games.

The three hour session, organised by Rother Children's Centre, was enjoyed by around 700 family members from 1066 country in all. Karen Martin, Rother Children's Centre Activity Organiser, called it "highly successful", adding: "the free event also enabled parents to get the latest information on services and support for families in the local community."

Another activity programme for is being planned for August.
