Sophie and her husband Adam adopted Faith following the devastating news they were unable to have children.

Sophie said: “Adam found Faith in the winter of 2013.

“She was in bad condition and had probably been trying to fend for herself for a week or so after being lost or abandoned.

“We immediately coordinated with the Council’s dog warden who holds the dog to wait for an owner to come forward. No one did, so we went through the legal process of adopting the dog who was brightening up our lives.

“During the wait whilst the dog was in the kennels, waiting for an owner to home forward we decided to call her Faith.

“That winter we had the shocking news we were never going to be able to have children.

“The news really shook our world and I ended up getting very ill. Adam was picking up medication for me when he came across Faith.

“As soon as Faith was home with us, both she and I started our rehabilitation and we walked together, little by little, getting stronger, building our health and gaining weight. Relying on each other.

“We are struggling without her.

“She is a firm member of our small family. We love her with all our heart. Her loss haunts our dreams and we are heartbroken in our waking hours.

“On Sunday Faith saw me cycle down the hill. She was running to catch up with me, but must have been picked up before she got to me.

“We are offering a huge reward to be reunited with Faith.

“We understand someone saw her and we need to thank them for taking her off the public lane. She may have changed hands by now.

“We just want to arrange to speak with anyone who has see her so we can organise her safe return and a huge reward to show our thanks. We are desperate without her. It is heartbreaking.

“She is such an important part of our life. She isn’t just a pet, she’s been my saviour.”
