Family says death report should be made public

THE DAUGHTER of a man whose death at East Surrey Hospital was the subject of a Channel 4 Dispatches programme said the trust should publish its report into its alleged failures.

But Surrey and Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust said it was unable to release the report into the death of 80-year-old Ken Rasheed due to patient confidentiality rules.

However Tamina Rashell, Mr Rasheed’s daughter, told the County Times: “I don’t know a single member of my family that said they wanted the report to be confidential, including my mother.”

“My father was starved to death. We wanted this report in the public domain so that lessons could be learned.”
