Family's distress at stolen flowers

THE family of a Goring man who died aged 44 have been left shocked and disgusted after thieves stole flowers from his grave.

Michael Nunn died suddenly on December 27, and was buried following a funeral service at Worthing Cemetery on February 1.

His mother, Anne, 68, from Goring, left a 300- wreath of roses spelling out the word Son. Other floral arrangements, including carnations in the shape of a heart, were also placed there.

But when she returned to the cemetery on Saturday afternoon, the wreaths had vanished and the heads of several other flowers had been cut off.

Michael's sister, Julia Reed, 42, of Durrington Lane, said: "I was just so angry when I found out. It had been tough enough for everyone dealing with Michael's death but for this to happen was despicable.

"It's so pointless and malicious because I just can't see how they would have value to anybody else."
