Jan Ziff, who has mastered-minded Heckerty’s digital conversion to apps and books, flew in specially from her home in Phoenix Arizona, to launch the new Heckerty Spells app and book in Rye in time for Halloween.

Heckerty was “born” in Rye when she was created by Jan Ziff’s mother Ann Rachlin, the celebrated musical story-teller who now lives in Icklesham.

Heckerty is a kind and caring witch, although a bit scatty when it comes to spells. With the help of her sidekick, her faithful cat Zanzibar, she entertains children whilst helping them learn to read, spell and cope with their early schooldays.

The apps are currently free to download. Visit www.heckerty.com.
