Fantastic fundraiser shocks Tyler’s Trust team

A BARNHAM charity which provides gift parcels to children with brain tumours and life-threatening illnesses has celebrated an ‘amazing’ fundraiser.

On Saturday more than 100 people trekked from Brighton Pier to Worthing Pier to raise much-needed cash for Tyler’s Trust.

The money was still being totalled up when the Gazette went to press.

However, organisers have hinted it is expected to hit the £3,000 marker.

Jan Ellis, mother of 18-year-old Tyler, who set up the trust, was thrilled by the news. She said: “It was absolutely amazing; there was no other word for it. There was a real sense of community and of people coming together.”

Tyler’s Trust was the idea of Tyler who had been through fighting against a brain tumour diagnosis.

The trust is now in the process of becoming a registered charity. It hopes to launch a support network for parents of children with cancer and aims to help more children than ever. For details, see www.tylerstrust.co.uk
